Periodic validation

CCD performs laundry process validations to check the quality and hygiene of industrial laundry processes. In a (re)validation, one of our specialists follows multiple loads of laundry through the entire process in your laundry – from washing to packing – to see exactly how well and hygienically the process is performing. We take the latest settings and agreed standards and guidelines as our starting point. Thanks to extensive measurements of the washing process and the use of various objective measuring devices, we accurately chart the process. In addition, we check the working methods in your laundromdat to determine whether the entire process consistently produces the same good results. In this way, we ensure that the stringent requirements of industries such as healthcare, the food industry and others where clean laundry hygiene is essential are met.

How do we work?
DES controller 2

The implementation

Control of germ reduction and stain removal

During validation, our specialists assess the performance of your laundry process on dirt and stain removal and disinfection. For this, we use test materials such as dirt and stain wipes, the DES (infection) controller, temperature loggers and the TRA for an objective assessment. In addition, whenever possible, we take water samples from different washing phases to analyze the chemistry concentrations and germ count of the final rinse water. In this way, we not only verify that the final product meets hygiene standards and is safe for use in demanding environments, but also that this result is achieved consistently and reproducibly. In case of any deviations, thanks to our years of experience, we offer targeted advice to improve your process.

All questions

Can CCD help with specific technical problems in my washing process?

Yes, definitely! During a wash process audit, our specialists follow the entire process from start to finish. This is done using a written wash process, usually supplied by the detergent supplier. We perform visual assessments as well as measurements with a calibrated temperature logger and other measuring devices. This compares the performance of the washing process with the expected settings and previous measurements. If possible, we also take water samples during different stages of the washing process so that we can perform even more detailed analyses and recommend targeted improvements.

Can CCD help me choose the right cleaning products?

Absolutely! As an independent consulting firm, our specialty is to objectively assess the performance of cleaning processes. We often do this from a quality assurance perspective and, of course, this can also be of value when choosing a supplier or type of cleaning product. This is how we help you make the best choice for your specific situation.

Can CCD help reduce costs in my cleaning process?

Sure! CCD makes the performance of cleaning processes objectively measurable, allowing areas for improvement to be quickly identified. This can help reduce the need for re-cleaning – or over-washing. The result? Lower costs for water, energy, chemicals and labor. In addition, an optimized process increases your team’s productivity. Sometimes, measurements show that the cleaning process is already working well, allowing you to perform the cleaning process shorter, at a lower temperature or with less chemistry, for example. By measuring regularly, you can better control costs structurally.

Can a DES controller be used only in the washing machine?

No, the DES controller is versatile. Although this type of bioindicator is often used to measure disinfection in a washing machine, variants are also available for other applications. The KT4-6 and KT3-7 are widely used and contain the Enterococcus faecium as indicator organism, inoculated on textile patches in varying amounts. The microorganisms are protected by a semipermeable membrane. This membrane prevents the test germs from washing off, while allowing chemicals and heat to pass through. This technique is also used for DES controllers that measure disinfection in professional dishwashers, bedpan washers, room disinfection with H₂O₂ or autoclaves. Each type of DES controller uses indicator organisms specifically tailored to the particular application to ensure reliable results.
