Tristimulus Reflection Analyzer (TRA) – Measures whiteness and dirt removal with precision

The Tristimulus Reflection Analyzer (TRA2023) is an advanced, portable measuring instrument that allows you to easily analyze the whiteness, stain removal and tristimulus reflection of textiles and other materials. With its compact design and stand-alone functionality, the TRA2023 is ideal for laundromat, consultants and detergent suppliers who want to make reliable measurements without relying on external power.

Objective and user-friendly measurements

With the TRA2023, you directly and objectively assess how well a washing process removes dirt and stains and how the whiteness compares to the standard or previous measurements. The measured values are clearly shown on the display, so you can easily interpret them and include them in reports. This makes the instrument perfect for use in the field, in laboratories or directly at customers.

How does the TRA2023 work?

The analyzer uses three special LED light sources that project light onto the surface to be measured. Depending on the characteristics of the surface, this light is reflected, after which the TRA displays the reflection value in a percentage (%):

• 0% = absolute black (no reflection)
• 100% = total reflection (maximum whiteness)

The measurements are based on the CIE color perception curve and comply with ISO 4312 and other relevant standards.

Applications in textiles and laundries

The TRA2023 is designed to objectively assess wash performance. When combined with test materials, such as the Industrial Cleaning Monitor (ICM), Workwear Cleaning Monitor (WCM) and Multi Soil Monitor (MSM), you accurately measure how effectively a washing process removes dirt and stains. In addition, the analyzer is excellent for measuring the whiteness and tint of practical textiles.
